Results of a recanvass of votes in the Republican gubernatorial primary are now in. Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes says Matt Bevin remains the GOP nominee for Governor, by an 83-vote margin over James Comer. She says one change was in Fayette County, where third place finisher Hal Heiner picked up three votes. The Ag Commissioner race saw only a handful of vote changes. Although Comer could have then requested a full recount, that will not be necessary as he released a statement conceding the race to Bevin. In the statement, Comer said that during the campaign, he grew to appreciate Bevin’s knowledge of the issues, his work ethic, and his morals. Comer says he fully supports Bevin in his race against Jack Conway for Governor.
