he 2915 Honor Flight is set to take off Friday afternoon for Washington, DC, with several veterans and others on board. The 43 heading out from the Sportscenter at 1pm include 11 World War II vets, 10 from the Korean War, and a few from Viet Nam. According to a release from the Sheriff’s Department, also going are State Rep. Suzanne Miles, Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs commissioner Heather French Henry, and Tommy and Cathy Mullins, who lost their son in Afghanistan. The public is invited to cheer them on at the send-off on Friday. The group will return on Sunday at 1:30pm at Owensboro Christian Church, and again the public is invited to welcome them.
