A lawsuit filed against the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles over the alleged overcharging of motorists in fees will stand, at least for now. A judge in Marion County refused a request from the BMV to dismiss the suit. Now, both sides have been ordered to resume mediation. According to previous reports, an independent audit showed that the BMV might have overcharged motorists more than the $60 million they originally disclosed. The lawsuit was filed in 2013, and also accuses the BMV of having poor oversight.
