Kentucky motorists are reminded that new booster seat regulations went into effect Wednesday. Under the previous law, children younger than 7 and 40 to 50 inches tall were required to ride in a booster seat, With the new law, the age goes up to 8 years old and the height requirement increases to 40 to 57 inches. Kentucky State Police troopers say they could issue tickets with a $30 fine, with an option for the violator to buy a booster seat instead of having to pay.
