County fairs in Indiana will have to be chicken-free this year. According to media partner 14News, the Board of Animal Health has ruled that no poultry be present at fairs because of the Avian flu, a contagious virus that is affected poultry in the Midwest. For 4H members, this means they can’t show off their poultry, but can still show their work. Students have the option of having a poster on a poultry topic, showing eggs, or bringing in photos.
