A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans work zone lane restrictions along US 60 at Hawesville in Hancock County starting Wednesday, July 8, 2015.
The contractor will be addressing drainage issues at the US 60/KY 3101 intersection, as well as working on a number of finish items remaining from the recent concrete rehabilitation project along US 60 through Hawesville.
To facilitate this work there will be intermittent lane restrictions with flaggers controlling traffic flow and access at various locations between US 60 mile point 9.4 and mile point 10.5.
Motorists should slow down and use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. Motorists should be alert for barricades, arrow boards and other traffic control devices providing direction in this work zone.
This work zone is along US 60 in Hawesville between Nugent Lane and Powers Lane, which includes the US 60 intersections with KY 3101/Harrison Street, KY 69/KY 1389/Madison Street, and KY 2181/Circle Street.
The W.L. Harper Company is the prime contractor on the original $5.3 million concrete rehabilitation project. The project is 95% complete. This final round of finish work and drainage improvements is expected to take about 3 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
