The City of Hawesville has subscribed to an emergency notification system that will send messages to citizens’ electronic devices. According to media partner 14News, emergency responders and city officials are now able to use reach alert notification system to send a quick and accurate alert to almost any electronic device. A message can be sent to an area as small as a few blocks to the entire city. The messages can include hazards, emergencies, and city announcements. The city spent $1,200 subscribing to the system. Citizens can go to www.reachalert.com and sign up for a free account to receive the alerts.
