The Owensboro Board of Education gave Superintendent Nick Brake a glowing evaluation and a $6,000 raise yesterday. His evaluation showed Brake “exemplary” and “accomplished.” Board Chairman John Blaney said “We are extremely impressed with Dr. Brake.” Brake gives credit to his staff and school principals. Blaney said the $6,000 raise the board voted for Brake — taking his total salary to $150,000 — equals the percentage raise that teachers are getting.
