A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling and paving along a section of US 60/The Wendell Ford Expressway at Owensboro starting Monday, July 27. This project runs along US 60 from mile point 15.3 near the Sutherland Road Overpass to mile point 18.761 near the KY 54 Underpass, a distance of 3.46 miles. This asphalt paving project starts at the east end of the ongoing US 60 Rehabilitation project and extends eastward. Due to weather conditions, milling that was originally scheduled for Saturday has been delayed until Monday to be followed by asphalt paving to start on Tuesday, July 28. Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. Due to the potential for traffic congestion and delays, motorists should consider taking an alternate route. Yager Materials, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $1.4 million highway improvement project. The work is expected to take about 2 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
