Specialty Foods Group held a ceremonial ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of its ham expansion project yesterday at the Owensboro Convention Center. Governor Steve Beshear announced that the $2.6 million project is expected create at least 65 jobs. The Kentucky Development Finance Authority approved up to $2.3-million in tax incentives for the project. Specialty Foods Group is the national lunch meat and hot dog maker responsible for Kentucky Legend Ham and other meat products under the brands Field, Fisher’s, Mickelberry’s and Scott Pete.
