The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions for a bridge on State Road 245 near Lamar beginning on or around September 8. Contractors will perform an pavement overlay on the bridge spanning Crooked Creek on S.R. 245 about three miles north of S.R. 70. Crews will patch areas of failing surface and then overlay new pavement on the bridge. During construction, the bridge will be reduced to one 10-foot lane at all times. Traffic will be controlled with a flagger at first while a temporary traffic signal and barrier wall are put in to place. Wide and heavy traffic should use the official detour following S.R. 162, U.S. 231 and S.R. 70. Depending upon weather conditions, work is scheduled to be complete by the end of September. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
