The previously reported case of a Central City man’s mysterious death has taken a new turn. Hopkins County Coroner Dennis Mayfield now confirms the death of Joey Pleasant has been ruled a homicide. According to media partner 14News, the 42-year-old was found unconscious at a home in Dawson Springs in July. He died later after being taken to a hospital. Deputies said Pleasant attended a party and was involved in a fight with another person. An autopsy report came back last week, and Mayfield says investigators had a chance to talk it over with Pleasant’s family. The case could be presented to the grand jury as early as November.
