The name of the driver has been released who was killed in an accident Tuesday morning on the Pennyrile Parkway. According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, a pickup driven by 30-year-old Ryan Sears of Brooksville, Florida rear-ended a car as both tried to pass a semi near mile marker 76 near the Henderson bypass exit. Police say Sears then turned around and fled the scene, with the car following behind so the driver could try to get his license plate number. Deputies say Sears tried to exit the southbound ramp from the left lane, but ended up hitting a guard rail and overturning. Sears was thrown from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. Police are still asking anyone who witnessed the original collision to call them at (270) 826-2713. The southbound ramp from the Pennyrile to KY 425 was closed for about three hours after the accident.
