We all know Black Sabbath was a heavily medicated group of dudes, heck they have a song all about weed. But while they were recording their album Volume 4, the guys ended up spending more on cocaine than they did making the album!
Bassist Geezer Butler said that the band spent 75,000 dollars on cocaine during the making of 1972’s Volume 4 which is 15,000 dollars more than it cost to make the actual record! In todays money, that turns out to be 430,000 dollars!
That means that in six months, the band’s four members (presumably with an assist from some hangers-on) put nearly half-a-million 2015 dollars up their noses.
