A Utica man is behind bars after leading police on a 3-plus hour chase Sunday morning. A deputy made a traffic stop on a suspected drunk driver at the McDonald’s on KY 144. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect immediately fled the vehicle, heading north toward the Ohio River. The suspect was spotted several times in the next three hours and twenty minutes, but because of locked gates behind businesses and barbed wire fences, he couldn’t be apprehended. After setting up perimeters in areas where he had been spotted, an Owensboro Police Department unit found the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Matthew A. Adams, hiding between two houses on Geary Avenue. Adams was charged with multiple offenses, including his 5th DUI in five years.
