A tip has led to possible new clues in an 18-year-old missing person case in southern Indiana. According to media partner 14News, dive teams began searching a lake near Ferdinand Wednesday in connection to the case of 13-year-old Ricky Lane Thomas, Jr., of Perry County. The boy was last seen seen by his step-father on November 6, 1997 in Bristow. He was supposed to go to his cousin’s house that day but never arrived. Hundreds of people searched the area for Ricky, but he was never found. In October, Indiana State Police revealed that they had received a tip that his body may be in Newtown Lake, just outside of Ferdinand. Officials say divers began searching the lake Wednesday morning. Anyone with information on Ricky’s disappearance should call ISP at (812) 482-1441.
