RUSH bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson shared their thoughts on the band’s future in a new video interview with Rolling Stone magazine. During the chat, they answered a variety of questions submitted by fans, including whether they plan to hit the road again following what may have been the group’s final full-scale tour.
“Are we going to tour again?” asked Lee. “That’s the question that I’d like to know myself. I can’t answer the question, because I have no idea myself, but it doesn’t look good at this point.”
He continued: “Not all of us agree on whether they want to tour again. It’s difficult because we all have a sort of different idea about touring and, at this moment, we are not all on the same page.”
Asked if RUSH will write and record new music in the near future, Lee said: “We don’t have any immediate plans for that. Right now we’re on holiday. I hope once the New Year rolls around and the juices get flowing and we get hungry again, we can talk about that.”
Pressed on whether that means the band is definitely not done, Lee said: “Not in my mind. But I can’t speak for everyone.”
