Officials at the Owensboro Humane Society were saddened to find that someone had broken into their facility the night of December 9 or early December 10. A welded safe was destroyed, and thieves made off with payroll, rent, and money collected for the spay and neuter clinic, plus medicines and more. In less than 24 hours, a GoFundMe account that had been set at $10,000 has exceeded its goal, bringing in over $11,000 in donations from over 300 individuals. Detectives with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department are in the process of collecting fingerprints and evidence from the scene.
