About 400 Kenergy customers were without power Wednesday after an accident on KY 144. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, 29-year-old Joshua Rose of Owensboro was driving east on 144 when his vehicle went off the road, hit a mail box, went across a yard, crashed into a utility pole and then flipped. The utility pole was split in half, causing the power outage. Customers were affected for about 3 hours. Deputies say Rose admitted to driving under the influence of Xanax; he’s charged with DUI, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a legend drug, and not having a driver’s license at the scene of the accident.
