The Levitt-Amp Foundation has denied Owensboro’s Friday After 5 the $25K grant it applied for even after Owensboro came up second in the nation in online voting. Levitt-Amp had made it clear that top vote getters would get the money; yesterday we were told that the Board of Directors applied subjective measurements after the voting and apparently determined that Owensboro was not as in need as other communities. Friday After 5 spokesman Kirk Kirkpatrick says he’s genuinely glad for the communities who won the award money, and says this will not stop Friday After 5’s 20th Anniversary year from being the best yet.
