An Owensboro house fire on Wednesday left three people without a home. According to media partner 14News, it started around 10am on Strawbridge Place, near East 26th Street. Firefighters found flames shooting from the roof when they arrived. Officials say the fire appears to have started in the front bedroom, then quickly spread to the attic and roof. Steve Leonard with OFD says the fire is still under investigation and they’re not sure whether it’s suspicious or accidental. He says the Red Cross was putting the family in a hotel last night. A GoFundMe account has been set up to raise money for the family. They are also asking for physical donations like shoes, blankets and clothing. They say those donations can be dropped off at 1664 Parkdale Drive.
