The Public Service Commission is set to meet February 23 to further discuss transferring ownership of a sewage treatment plant that serves an area off KY 54. According to media partner 14News, a meeting was held Thursday night at Country Heights Elementary to clear up misinformation about the failing plant, which serves Cedar Hills. The treatment plant is privately owned and the owner is looking to sellit. The current plan is for RWRA to take over ownership and expand the sewer system at an estimated cost of $1.5 million. That could mean a sharp rise in rates for residents in the neighborhood. Officials with the Green River Area Development District say they will apply for grants that may lower the cost.
