A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to continue use of a rolling work zone along various highways in Daviess County this week. A slow-moving work zone caravan will be used to place raised pavement markers along about about another 10 miles of roadway in Daviess County. Work that started last week along US 431 between the Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard intersection at mile point 10.029 extending northward to the US 60 Interchange at mile point 11.389 is almost complete. On Monday, April 4th, the contractor expects to finish up work along southbound turn lanes in this area. The contractor then plans to move to KY 2831/Frederica Street from US 60 at mile point 0.0 extending northward to mile point 2.535 near the KY 54/KY 81/Parrish Avenue intersection in Owensboro. Work along this section of Frederica Street is expected to take about 5 to 7 days to complete. As work progresses in coming weeks the contractor will continue installation of reflective lane markers through Daviess County along the following routes as weather permits:

US 231 Mile Point 9.733-11.294 (3-4 Days)
KY 603 Mile Point 0.458-1.637 (1-2 Days)
KY 2262 Mile Point 0.000-2.535 (5-7 Days)
Motorists should be alert for a slow-movng mobile work caravan with rolling work zone and one lane traffic. The contractor plans to start on US 431 and then move to US 60. The work along US 431 is expected to take about a day. The work along US 60 is expected to take about a week to complete. While traffic delays should be minimal, some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the required work. Central Seal is the prime contractor. This work is part of a $1.1 million project to place raised lane markers along various highways in KYTC District 1 and District 2. This work will continue at various locations in Daviess County and around the region through the construction season as weather allows. Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
