The Kentucky Transportation is preparing to activate a new traffic signal at the intersection of KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road and the US 60 Exit 19 Interchange eastbound exit ramp in Owensboro. The new traffic signal is expected to be placed into yellow flashing mode at approximately 9 a.m., CDT, on Thursday, June 2, 2016. It will remain in yellow flashing mode through the weekend to allow motorists to become aware of the signal location and prepare for changes in traffic flow the new signal will create at this intersection. Signs and message boards have been placed around this intersection to alert the public to the activation date. This new signal at the intersection of the US 60 Exit 19 eastbound exit ramp and KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road is expected to go into full green-yellow-red operation at approximately 9 a.m., CDT, on Monday, June 6, 2016. An electrical crew is expected to be on-site during the day today running final checks on the signal and controller. The signal may briefly be put into operation during this testing. Once this new signal is activated, the contractor will ramp up construction of a new signal on the north side of this interchange at the intersection of KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road Connector and Pleasant Valley Road.
