Deputies were attempting to serve a parole violation warrant and a failure to appear warrant on Russell Clyde Wettstain at 418 Reid Rd. lot # 111. During the service of those 2 outstanding warrants, a chemical odor in the residence alerted deputies to a possible meth lab or chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Wettstain was arrested on the outstanding warrants and the house was cleared and secured while a search warrant was obtained. During the service of the search warrant, a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and the remnants of a methamphetamine lab was located inside the trailer. Wettstain was arrested on the 2 outstanding warrants and new charges as follows:
Manufacturing methamphetamine 2nd or more offense
Drug paraphernalia possession 2nd or more offense
Poss of controlled substance 1st degree, 2nd offense (methamphetamine)
Poss of controlled substance 1st degree, 2nd offense ( drug unspecified)
Wettstain was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center
