A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close a section of KY 2124 in southernmost Hancock County starting Monday, August 22. KY 2124/Cabot Road was originally expected to close Monday, August 15. However, the start of work had to be delayed until Monday, August 22. KY 2124/Cabot Road will be closed to allow construction of a new bridge over the South Fork of Panther Creek at mile point 2.613. The roadway is expected to close at this site starting at approximately 7:00 a.m., CDT, on Monday. There will be no marked detour. This is along KY 2124/Cabot Road just south of the Hickory Ridge Road & Dewitt Road intersection. The closure is about halfway between KY 261 and KY 1700. Do All Construction is the prime contractor on this $289,173 bridge replacement project. Weather permitting, the bridge has a target completion date of October 15, 2016.
