One person is dead after a head-on collision on U.S. 431 on Monday. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, it happened in the 9600 block of 431 when a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier crossed the center line and into the path of 2016 GMC Sierra. The driver of the Cavalier had to be extricated from the vehicle, and was later pronounced dead at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Sierra driver, 59-year-old Michael McDonald of Central City, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing a seat belt. Toxicology results are pending on the deceased driver, and that driver’s name has not yet been released.
