The driver of a vehicle involved in a deadly Muhlenberg County crash over the weekend is now facing a murder charge. According to Kentucky State Police, 24-year-old Bobby Ammonds of Franklin was drunk when his vehicle left the roadway on KY 949 near Penrod Sunday night and struck a tree. His passenger, 36-year-old Joshua Stilts of Smiths Grove, was killed. Neither man was wearing a seat belt. After being checked out at the hospital, Ammonds was taken to the Muhlenberg County Jail. After pleadng not guilty Monday morning, Ammonds faces a preliminary hearing on October 24.
