An arrest has been made in connection to an incident that occurred On October 5 at a Daviess County mobile home park. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, a call came in from residents on KY 2830 saying someone in the night had written a racial slur on the side of their home, and burned a cross in their yard. Because the suspect was also reported to have kicked in the door of the residence, criminal mischief charges have been filed against 26-year-old Scott Alan Shepherd, also of KY 2830. Deputies say there was insufficient evidence connecting Shepherd to the racial slur and cross-burning incident. In the investigation, the sheriff’s office had the cooperation of severl agencies, including the Human Relations Commission, the local chapter of the NAACP, and the pastor of a local church.
