Owensboro, KY. (July 17, 2017) – Kentucky State Police attempted to stop a vehicle, on the US60 bypass, for speeding 91mph. While the Trooper attempted to catch up to the speeding vehicle, the operator accelerated to a high rate of speed and exited the bypass onto Carter road where he turned his headlights off in an attempt to elude the Trooper. The operator turned onto Middleground Court and then onto Elwood Court. The operator failed to realize Elwood Court was a dead end and he proceeded off the roadway into a yard, nearly striking a residence, whose owner was inside asleep. The operator was identified as Alexander Miller, 18, of Owensboro. Miller was charged with speeding 91mph in a 65mph zone, wanton endangerment 1st degree, fleeing or evading police 1st degree motor vehicle, reckless driving, disregarding a traffic light and intermediate licensing violations. Miller was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
