Duke University tandem Rebecca Greenwell and Lexie Brown were named to 2 more national watch lists Wednesday as the Citizen Naismith Trophy and “Wade Watch” candidates were released.
Brown was named one of 25 candidates for The Wade Trophy, while both Brown and Greenwell were two of 50 players to watch for the Citizen Naismith Player of the Year Trophy. The Duke duo received Naismith accolades for the third time in their career.
Owensboro’s Greenwell leads the ACC in three-point field goals made (21) and three-point field goal percentage (52.5%). The 6-1 guard is also averaging 16.5 points and 7.2 rebounds, while ranks 11th and tied 17th, respectively, in the ACC. Over the last three games, Becca has been on a tear averaging 20.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals. She has hit 15-of-26 three-pointers for a 57.7 percentage.
Brown and Greenwell are currently ranked as the seventh-best scoring backcourt among power five conference teams averaging 36.2 points a contest.
The 14th-ranked Blue Devils feature a week where they host eighth-ranked Ohio State and travel to fourth-ranked South Carolina. Duke will welcome the Buckeyes to Cameron Indoor Stadium Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m., live on ESPN2.
