The City of Jasper has achieved re-certification in the Indiana Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (INSHARP). Maintaining certification for over 14 years, the City of Jasper has demonstrated excellence in proactively eliminating or limiting workplace safety and health hazards, reducing worker injuries, and protecting city employees. The City of Jasper, county seat of Dubois County, is home to over 15,000 Hoosiers, the 55th largest Indiana city, and an employer of approximately 174 workers. According to Department of Labor Commissioner Rick Ruble, “The City of Jasper is an excellent representation of a thriving workplace safety and health culture.” The City of Jasper has served as an ambassador for the INSHARP program and workplace safety and health excellence as demonstrated by hosting and participating in workplace safety and health “Best Practice” meetings, actively supporting outreach efforts, and engaging in many other safety-related activities. The City of Jasper’s most recent workplace injury and illness rate was nearly half the national industry average.
