A new study says women who eat fewer carbohydrates can delay the start of menopause by as much as five years. Researchers in Britain found that women who regularly ate meat and fish went through menopause nearly a year later on average. Researchers studied 14-thousand women over four years and found that those who ate large amounts of rice and pasta were at greatest risk of early menopause. Women who ate plenty of oily fish and beans began menopause nearly five years later than women who ate carb-rich diets. The study is published in the latest edition of the “Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.”
