There are questions about how Kentucky’s state fire officials are spending their money. Kentucky Auditor Mike Harmon released a report yesterday that highlights 150-thousand-dollars that went to firefighters’ competitions from 2014 to 2017. Most of that money went to cover the tab for hotels and meals. Another 50-thousand went to send an honor guard and its families to the National Firefighter Memorial Weekend. The money comes from Kentucky’s Firefighters Foundation Program Fund, which generated 44-million-dollars in 2016 alone.
