Temperatures are warming and the humidity is rising, which is leading to warnings about leaving pets in vehicles. Animal protection officials are asking pet owners to take precautions to decrease the chance of endangering their four-legged friends. Anyone traveling with a pet this holiday should not leave them in a car, as they don’t dispel heat the way people do and can suffer heat exhaustion, heat stroke or death very quickly. Even on a day when it’s 70 degrees outside, the temperature inside a car can hit 90 degrees in just ten minutes.
