A lot of things are a bit more expensive across the state of Kentucky. The state’s new sales tax went into effect yesterday. There is now a six percent charge on a number of services. Everything from gym memberships to lawn care to pet grooming will now be taxed. The tax also applies to non-profits that sell tickets, like University of Kentucky football and basketball games.
