Federal officials in western Kentucky say eight former Armstrong Coal Company employees are being indicted. During a press conference in Owensboro yesterday, authorities said the eight people indicted conspired to commit fraud by altering the company’s required dust sampling procedures. They allegedly fabricated and submitted dust sampling test results on days the mine wasn’t in operation. The tests are used for protecting miners from Black Lung disease.
