National Weather Service in Paducah, KY has officially issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 3pm Wednesday, November 14th until 6pm on Thursday, November 15th. This affects southwest Indiana, southeast Missouri, western Kentucky and portions of southern Illinois east of Interstate 57. The best chance for seeing a prolonged mix of wintry precipitation will be over the Pennyrile region of west Kentucky into southwest Indiana.
A wintry mix is expected work north and northwest through the region for the remainder of the afternoon and into tonight. Snow will pick up in coverage and intensity tonight. Snowfall totals of 2 to 6 inches are expected, with isolated higher amounts possible. Light freezing rain and sleet will also mix with the snow in some locations.
Use caution if you must travel on roadways tonight, or avoid travel if possible during this winter storm. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions may impact the commute this evening, and will likely impact the commute Thursday morning.
