Daylight Saving Time is not just about turning the clocks ahead this weekend. Fire officials In Kentucky want to remind residents it’s the time to change batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Fire data reveals people can cut the risk of dying in a fire by up to one-half if fire and smoke alarms are working in the house. Fire officials say families should also know the escape routes from every room in the residence and parents should go over the fire evacuation plan with their kids and babysitters. If your home doesn’t have alarms, call your local fire department because many departments will provide an alarm and install it.
