OMU Battles Outages

Owensboro Municipal Utilities crews were kept busy in recent days with power outages. First, around 3,000 customers were in the dark late Saturday afternoon when an equipment failure at a substation caused a failure in the central and western part of Owensboro.

Passenger in Vehicle Involed in Shooting Arrested

The driver of a vehicle involved in an incident with a Muhlenberg County deputy was flown to University of Louisville Hospital Saturday after being fired on by the officer. According to Kentucky State Police, a deputy pulled over Jesse Hailey, but Hailey allegedly attempted to run over the officer with his vehicle.

Corvette Museum To Fill Up Hole

After a previous report saying the National Corvette Museum might keep their 30-foot deep sinkhole as an attraction, officials announced Saturday the hole will be completely filled. In February, the sinkhole opened up in the Skydome building, swallowing 8 expensive cars.

Owensboro Board of Education Has Voted

Brescia Sees Highest Enrollment in 46 Years

Fall enrollment is expected to be at the highest level in 46 years, the second highest level in school history.   The current total headcount is 1,054 students.  This enrollment increase makes the eighth consecutive year of undergraduate degree seeking enrollment growth for Brescia.
