JONATHAN DOLL
As
a small boy growing up in New York City, Jonathan was born
into a showbiz family. His mother was an actress who was Judy
Garland's stand-in in The Wizard of Oz and his father
was a Broadway press-agent. Jonathan's boyhood showbiz dream
was to be on the radio. Now that he's a bigger boy, he's realized
his dream by working in Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis
and finally here at Today's Best Hits. When he's not doing
the morning show, he can be found boating, bicycling, at the
movies or at a comedy club partaking of frosty beverages with
bendy straws. His best times are spent with his wife Lori
(who is s a great singer) his son Brandon (who's the funniest
kid he knows) and his dog Murphy (who does really entertaining
things with his squeaky boney).
MARY TYLASKA
At
some point during her junior year of college, Mary Tylaska's
parents asked her what she planned to do with her life. Finding
"wait to be discovered" an unacceptable answer,
Mary was then pressed to come up with a new professional goal...Texas
born, bred and educated (yes, she does bleed burnt-orange),
one of Mary's first radio jobs was working alongside the infamous
(and now late) Morton Downey Jr. Not surprisingly, they got
along quite well! "He taught me how to read commercials
without sounding like a Stepford wife with Tourette's Syndrome,"
says Mary fondly. Since then she's done mercenary work for
two country stations, an alternative format, and has written/produced/voiced
numerous commercials for national companies. When not battling
Jonathan on the morning show, Mary relishes time spent travelling
with her husband Joe (they were married in Prague, Czech Republic),
taunting the cat and watching the History Channel....Jack
and Coke in hand, of course. She is still waiting to be "discovered
Dan Lopez
Growing
up in Los Angeles, Dan was nurtured on some great radio. And
years later, when it came time to pick a major in college,
radio/TV broadcasting was an easy choice. In plying his trade
Dan has worked in San Francisco, Dallas, Miami, San Diego
and back in his native L.A. (with a break to go to graduate
school in English). Music, Asian cuisine (especially Thai),
cycling and watching DVDs on the couch with his wife and Australian
Shepherd (actually, he is not allowed on the couch!) are favorite
pastimes.
David Perry
Dave
began life as a surprise.
Apparently, an unexpected one - but then, aren't ALL surprises
unexpected?
His mother was undergoing a routine x-ray in an attempt to
diagnose some stomach discomfort she'd been experiencing,
when, lo and behold . . . there he was, probably making shadow
puppets on the x-ray screen.
Yes, that's right - blasted with radiation before even leaving
the womb.
Explains a LOT, doesn't it?
Dave's childhood was happy and uneventful - except, of course,
for the hundreds of times he was dropped on his head during
driveway basketball games with his older neighborhood friends.
Really explains a LOT, doesn't it?
Dave's dream was always to pursue a career in radio broadcasting.
He started in 1981 at a hits station in Silsbee, Texas (picture
Green Acres meets The Twilght Zone). He moved
on to radio stations in Beaumont, Houston, and Dallas, Texas.
Today he enjoys playing great music and taking care of his
listeners on Today's Best Hits!
He and his lovely wife of 20 years, Rhonda, have two boys,
Michael and Matthew. On his free time you can catch Dave driving
his Ford Mustang GT, surfing the Internet, and catching up
on his "honey do's". Dave would like to add that
all his successes and blessings comes from his Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ! Check out his website here!
Mike Wade
Mike
pretty much figured music would be his calling.
Not so much playing drums in a rock band, but teaching Percussion
at the University level. Both his parents were teachers so
it seemed like a good fit.
Until a high school speech class spun his head - and his life
- in a different direction. It wasn't long before he realized
talking for a living beat working for a living. Getting his
first job in radio helped him graduate from the University
of Houston. Then he made stops in Dallas-Fort Worth, and New
York, before starting a family and playing Today's Best Hits.
Mike still has his drums and has been known to annoy his neighbors,
wife Susan, and daughter Shelly (the youngest of three girls
still at home), with the occasional "if it's too loud
you're too old" solo.
