A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet a work zone traffic shift as part of an ongoing rehabilitation project along the AUDUBON Parkway in HENDERSON County. This traffic shift is expected to be completed TODAY. Two-way traffic has been running along the eastbound lanes of the Audubon Parkway to allow the contractor to reconstruction the westbound lanes between mile point 0.0 at Henderson and mile point 8.5. Work along the westbound lanes is nearing completion. The contractor plans to shift traffic in phases. Westbound traffic will be moved back to the westbound lanes sometime today with eastbound traffic remaining one lane on the eastbound side. All traffic will be running in the right-hand or outside lanes. This traffic configuration will remain in place for about a week while the contractor prepares the westbound lanes for two-way traffic. Motorists should be alert for changes in traffic control along this work zone through the day, today, to help facilitate this phased traffic shift. This will remove all traffic from the Audubon Parkway westbound lanes to allow the start of rehabilitation work from mile point 0.0 to mile point 8.5. The project includes erosion control and drainage improvements, as well as concrete pavement upgrades along this section. Hall Contracting is the prime contractor on this $12.29 million highway improvement project. The anticipated completion date is October, 31, 2015. This project included repair of a dip near the 11 mile marker on the Audubon that was completed last fall.
