The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions on three different bridges on I-64 near Sulphur beginning Friday. The westbound lanes of I-64 will be restricted about two miles both east and west of State Road 66 while crews perform a pavement overlay on two bridges spanning Jayby Creek and Turkey Fork. Contractors will close the left lane for about three weeks, depending upon weather conditions. Once the left lane is complete, crews will switch over to the right lane. The eastbound lanes will be restricted about three miles east of S.R. 237 while contractors work on another bridge spanning Turkey Fork. Contractors will close the right lane for about three weeks, and then switch to the left lane. Traffic will be restricted around the clock during the project. Loads over 15-feet wide will need to find an alternate route. Work is expected to last until late September or early October. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
