The Daviess County Board of Education has scheduled a public hearing on its proposed 2 percent property tax hike for 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the district office on Southeastern Parkway. The school district has proposed raising the tax rate from the current 63.1 cents per $100 of property value to 64.4 cents. That’s half of the 4 percent increase the district could take without triggering a referendum.
