A vehicle found to be stolen from a Daviess County business was found crashed in a cornfield against a tree Tuesday morning, leading to a burglary investigation by the sheriff’s department. According to the report, a call came in telling deputies about a school bus/tree collision. Upon arrival, police found the vehicle was a modified school bus used for farming purposes, belonging to Cabbage, Inc., on KY 279 North. It was unoccupied, and deputies concluded it had been stolen from the business, driven through a corn field, through a small building, and into the tree. It was also found that Cabbage, Inc, had been burglarized, with numerous items, including a fuel tank, stolen. Just a few hours before, officials also responded to a barn fire on 279 North.
