A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans base repairs to be followed by asphalt paving along a section of US 431 in MCLEAN County starting Saturday, September 26. This work zone along US 431 runs from just north of the Rough River/Green River Bridge at mile point 5.41 extending northward to just north of the KY 1080 intersection at mile point 8.27, a distance of 2.86 miles. The contractor plans to start base repairs on Saturday along the entire project area. Once those repairs are completed, traffic will be allowed to run for about a week to allow the repaired areas to settle. The contractor will then return for milling and asphalt paving along this section of US 431 through the Livermore Community. Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers in the work zone. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. Road Builders, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $414,537 highway improvement project. The work should be completed in about a two weeks, weather permitting.
