A Saturday night fire damaged a portion of the Cadillac Motel on West 2nd Street. According to media partner 14News, crews responded to the motel around 11:45pm and found flames emitting from the roof of the rear building. Fire Chief Steve Mitchell says there was some debris including a mattress behind the motel which could’ve been on fire causing flames to jump to the Cadillac motel. Over two dozen people staying at the motel were evacuated. Officials say one person suffered possible smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital. Around 30 rooms were affected, and most of those staying there were able to be relocated to other rooms nearby.
