A Daviess County man was arrested Sunday night after police say he was involved in a domestic dispute resulting in two injuries. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy was called to the Owensboro Health emergency room, where 62-year-old Retha Stokes said she was involved in an altercation with her husband, 59-year-old Gerald Stokes, at their home on Browns Valley Red Hill Road. She claimed he shoved her to the floor, injuring her right ankle, as well as causing a minor head injury. 70-year-old Gary Owen, who lives with the couple, attempted to break up the fight, but deputies say Gerald Stokes hit Owen in the back with a pan of boiling rice from the stove, causing burns. Gerald Stokes was lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center on charges of 2nd degree assault, as well as 4th degree assault (domestic violence) with injury.
