Repair and painting of the Bob Cummings Lincoln Trail Bridge is still on for 2016, although the official agreement hasn’t been signed between Kentucky and Indiana. According to the Messenger-Inquirer, officials say bids went out for the project December 10. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says the state can’t fully commit to the plan until the General Assembly approves the funding in the next session. The project will actually be two, the first being to repair the structure, and the second to clean and paint it. The bridge connects KY 69 in Hawesville with Indiana 237 in Cannelton. The Bob Cummings Bridge first opened to traffic in 1966.
