We live in a free country which lets us worship whatever religion we want, you can form your own political opinions freely and you can listen to whatever music without the government getting involved. Other countries aren’t as lucky as us such is the case with an Iranian metal band by the name Confess.
Nikan Siyanor Khosravi and Khosravi Arash Chemical Ilkhani were arrested by the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution and are facing charges of blasphemy, advertising against the system, running an illegal and underground band and record label promoting music considered to be Satanic, writing anti-religious lyrics and granting interviews to forbidden foreign radio stations. These serious charges resulted in the two band members, aged 23 and 21 sitting in solitary since last November until finally making bail on February 5th, paying the equivalent of $30,000 US.
Yea, metal gets a bad reputation sometimes for being darker and crazy, but a government going as far as killing musicians because they don’t share the same beliefs is totally unjust! There’s no information about how we can help the guys out in Confess, but spread the word about this madness and hopefully they can continue to play the music they love!
